These beautiful photographs make me want to go to Scandinavia and become a nomad (the kind that carries around lampshades!)

This is a great thing by Dentsu... can screenprint your old newspapers to make brilliant wrapping! careful to avoid the smudge, but perfecto for veggies and flowers and the like...
(images from an inspiring 'all the mountains')
Ooo ahhh.... this lovely looking piece of information design is by Ellie (the fantastic eyes behind mint) for her company, Flywheel Design. I love the heart map especially so!
I love Steven Harrington's work... and tipis... so this was an joyous little find. Just need to track him down and convince him to paint me a tent to go travelling in. Simple!

Stumbled on a brilliant blog today called Color me Katie. It is full of fresh and colourful photography and can't help but feel happy looking at it all... especially loved this silhouettes idea she did for Time Out New York... much more fun than the usual profile head shot!
Dutch paper artist Peter Callesen's work has popped up ('scuse the poor pun) so much, but each time it amazes me no less than the time before... he uses A4 paper because he says it's the most used format for carrying information in our world... and in this form ie. blank and cutout to form 3D images ... it is transformed into an art. Simple idea and materials but beautifully intricate works. (His framed series is really great too!)

Back to school season for many (sadly not me anymore)... praps will get some of these ceramic stripey ones instead!?
I know i've already had a print of the day by Blanca but they're so cute I can't get enough! (& this is a new one)
Saw this good-looking fellow on the grain edit site and was won over by its cover! It's a limited edition book of short fiction with illustrations to boot... the illustrations are great (see the flickr set here) and am sure the words will be equally tasty.

When I was young, my dad used to get me to highlight the 'important' words in his work papers so I could pretend to be a business woman (The whole time I thought it a very special and highly skilled job... only later realising they were headed for the paper recycling bin instead!)

There was a post on design sponge yesterday that made my heart glow. A couple has made it their job to send every person in Cushendall, Ireland (467 in total), a personal letter. You can see them all on their blog but here are a few of my favourites.

ooo... a lovely book feature on Design sponge today... what an amazing book it sounds... must get my mitts on one of those!
This project by Alex Ostrowski and Hattie Newman is a feat in paper engineering... commissioned by Grafik magazine for the free range exhibition in London, the crafty pair made these beautiful birds from old pages of the magazine awell as houses for them to nest in. I love the toucan!
