I'm really excited that my dearest friend and Moon Rocks magazine editor, JG is going to be sharing his magazine discoveries on here on a monday-type basis. Hope you like it too (& please be nice to him!)...
+ Its nice to see magazines using different printing techniques, especially ones usually reserved for lottery scratch cards. The current issue of UK Wired uses grey scratch-off ink, combined with a stunning cover design. (more via Magculture)
+ 48 hour magazine is exactly what it sounds like. Global conrtibutors produce a printed magazine over the weekend - simple. A great project and a cool documentary about it online.
+ A bit of nostalgia in with modern stuff. The Face magazine would be 30 this month, if it was still alive *sniff sniff*. You can see all the covers on this flickr group. A few of my favourites below...

Posters galore // Rachelle Fox
While ambling around the internet today I found these beautiful posters by UK illustrator and designer, Rachelle Fox. The colours and compositions are great and for some are reason making me very excited about the upcoming weekend! See more of her great work over on her website.
Rainy morning
Wednesday, 26 May 2010
It's rainy and grey outside. The kind of day when it's perfect to stay in bed with tea and toast all day kind of day! (Sadly today is not that day for me) Though the grey day was much better for waking up to this lovely new curtain that my very clever mum made us (beautiful fabric is from ikea). Thanks mum!
Typographic workbook
Tuesday, 25 May 2010
This typographic workbook, designed by Studio 3, is like none I've seen before. It is colourful and innocent and there are no strict old ladies beating your hands with metal rulers for right aligning your text! There is a chapter for each letter and pages and pages of fun (well, for type nerds anyway) games and exercises. The only sad thing is it's sold out... hopefully more coming soon though! See all the spreads here.
Typographic bliss
Wednesday, 19 May 2010
This font is so divine. It's called Brownstone and is by the very talented Alejandro Paul. It comes with all those great brackets and flourishes... if I had a spare couple of hundred dollars I'd be snapping it up quick sticks.
A wallpaper prodigy
Tuesday, 18 May 2010

I know this has been around the web quite abit this week but I love the fact that an 8 year old boy called Otto (son of Fine Little Day author Elisabeth) has designed 2 of his own wallpapers... and they're both utterly adorable! Am sure he had a little help making it into rolls but still... wow, is this little man sorted or what?!
(They're both available to buy here)
A sweet treat!
Monday, 17 May 2010

Had such a great package arrive on my doorstep last week. 'Sweet Treats' the new book by Frankie magazine is now out and it's even more delightful than those that came before. Full of sweets that really take you back down the old sweet shop lane and beautifully styled as always (makes me almost glad it's rainy outside so can get stuck into gelatin) My most exciting moments were finding the recipes for coconut marshmallows and musk sticks... oh my, thankyou Frankie!

(please excuse the below average photos... very grey outside today!)
Envelope templates
Friday, 14 May 2010
Can't remember where I first found these great templates in Japanese online shop, Yozo Craft but aren't they great... and they come in so many great shapes. Would be perfect for making lined envelopes... or making envelopes out of inside out photos or paper (so all the good bits are inside when you open it)
The stamp sets in the Yozo Craft shop are also pretty special. Especially the little red riding hood and Alice in wonderland ones.

Market delight // Finders Keepers
Monday, 10 May 2010
Spent a big chunk of Saturday roaming the Finders Keepers Markets at Sydney's Carriageworks. It was full of so much talent it was almost abit too overwhelming... almost! I came away with a couple of porcelain jewellry delights from Angus&Celeste, and not even an ounce of paper (there were too many good ones to choose from i reckoned) These were some of my favourite things:
+ The neons of Lox+Savvy's 3 fold shaped cards.
+ Me and Amber with their screenprinted designs onto mounted old book pages
Print of the day > Paul of Navarone
Sunday, 9 May 2010
Paul's images are full to the brim with nut-nut brilliance... this print is only one of many fine ones from the shop (it took me 20 mins to decide on this one but even then little naughty brain on the other side wanted to put another one in too) ... so do go and see for yourself or you'll be missing out.
Envelope books // Jane & Jeremy
Saturday, 8 May 2010
These envelope books by Jane & Jeremy are both a fabulous use for stamped up old envelopes as well as a great little hideaway for paper treasures.
Their Polaroid prints are pretty great also... they make me dreamy for france!
p.s. you can buy them all on their site too
Spots and Stripes
Friday, 7 May 2010
Saw these on Upon a fold and can't stop looking at them. Stunning letter paper and envelope sets from Drop Around studio in Japan... what a treat to get one of these in your postbox!
Hello internet!
I feel like a turtle just back from hibernation... we finally have the Internet again and bought ourselves a lovely new computer as a reward too. Yippee!! I am sorry for my long departure (and scarceness of posts over the last couple of months) but am finally sorted so looking forward to being a daily web head again. I hope you'll keep coming back now too!
