Birds of Paper Paradise // Claire Brewster

index-1

Winged creatures hand cut from unwanted atlases and maps then pinned to board are what UK artist Claire Brewster does so beautifully. I love that they look so fragile yet their shadows are so proud at the same time. A perfect medium for the little feathery friends I think. See more on her site here

Citta Design // Tokyo collection

Screen-shot-2012-04-20-at-1.20.47-PM

It's been very rainy this week but I haven't minded it! My mum recently gave me this most gorgeous umbrella (which looks even better in real life) and Leo and I have been covered in wonderful colour (he loves it as much as me and giggles everytime we're using it) It's by Citta Design and on closer inspection I found that in fact all of their new Tokyo collection is pretty special... dangerously special!

A book of memories // Amy Borrell

Monday, 16 April 2012

I have admired Amy Borrell's whimsical watercolours (aka Cake with Giants) when they grace the pages of Frankie magazine from time to time. Having a little explore on her folio site last night I found this little project which makes me want to lock myself in a room for a week to attempt to replicate it!

book

Titled 'A brief account of a life lived so far', Amy has gathered her photos, letters and favourite things, ordered them from A-Z and then hand sewn the whole lot into a glorious bundle of a book.

Crumpled City Maps // Emanuele Pizzolorusso

Monday, 2 April 2012

4_crumpledcitypizzolorussony

I love this idea! Indesctructable/waterproof/scrunchable/no-fold city maps created by Emanuele Pizzolorusso... So simple yet such genius! I am constantly getting rips in creases of paper maps and though that is kind of charming to look at, it gets us very lost at times! When you're finished you just shove it back in its little bag. neat.

I like the look of the kiddies ones too. Even more incentive to travel with the little munchkins!
