Emily Maude//University of Brighton Degree Show

Tuesday, 16 June 2009

I went to the University of Brighton Undergraduate Degree Show last week. There were a few gems in the maze of rooms and hallways, my favourite of which was the work by Emily Maude. It was a project called 'imagined realities' as explained by Emily here:
Imagined Realities is a project in which I observed a Eric Ravilious' mug housed in the Brighton Museum collection and the people that engaged with it.

The people were then followed to observe what could be ascertained by body language and engagement with other situations. The journeys were documented and 3D boxed collages were created from these stories.

see Emily's website for detailed explanations of them all
