50 Books/50 Covers of 2008

Thursday 12 November 2009

Wish I had been in San Francisco last week for this exhibition of the AIGA 50 books/50 covers.
So many great books (happy to see the multiple McSweeneys editions in the mix) which are most definately testament to the fact that people still love books as tactile beings and not horrible screens of text! (not sure if you can tell but the thought of e-books makes me very sad) See all the judges final selections here. The exhibition runs till 20th November if you're in the area? (Its at Chronicle books HQ)

  1. these book covers are gorgeous! print books are such an art form (that e-books can't match). I think e-books are versatile with links, etc but you can't display it on your coffee table. thanks for sharing 50 Books/50 Covers!

  2. Completely agree with you... as long is it doesn't go down the route that vinyl>mp3's have done... but i think like you say books are tougher an artform than that!
