Paper weather

Thursday, 3 March 2011

Kurt Riedi has come up with a wonderful way of telling the weather forecase with these simple silhouettes and household objects. I love how moody they all are (This'd make even a cold and thunderstormy day an exciting one) & how the sunny sun is such a radiant lightness!

Paper Bags by SIWA

Tuesday, 3 August 2010

Siwa bags 2
These humble paper bags are like no other... they are water resistant and won't break when full of oranges! They are made by Japanese company SIWA from a material called 'Soft Naoron'. It's a wood pulp and polyolefin paper using japanese washi-suki methods. Such simple looking little things but so clever. Could only be from Japan (another reason to add to my 'pro's about going to Japan' list - which is a long list btw) They also make other beauties from this magic material...

card + garden = postcarden

Sunday, 7 March 2010

In this day and age of disposable everything's... this is a welcome little treat that will make mother nature smile! It's a postcard... that then grows into a magical garden just by adding a few teaspoons of water. How can one bit of paper be so clever?!
