The Film Title Stills Collection

Thursday, 11 August 2011

I'll admit to not being a huge fan of black and white movies (I just love colour abit too much I think) but the lettering of the opening and ending film titles are just beautiful. This awesome website is devoted to such titles and has even divided them into decades and themes (plus a whole section of Saul Bass opening sequences too).

The 1940's was a particuarly special decade...

Creative wonder of MicMacs

Just saw the beautiful most recent of Jean-Pierre Jeunet movies... ahh! Being a huge Amelie fan (also Delicatessen and City of Lost Children), there were great expectations and still it didn't disappoint - especially the adorable characters of the mishmash family. Sunbeams of innocent and magical creativity... made for a very happy moi this weekend!

September Issue // movie bliss

Wednesday, 13 January 2010

I finally got around to watching The September Issue last night and it wholeheartedly lived up to its hype (which was BIG in my head) and I never wanted it to end!! Though I had thought Anna Wintour would really be amazing, it was actually Creative Director Grace Coddington who really was the star for me. Every photo shoot she styled looked absolutely stunning & she has such amazing vision! It didn't make me want to work in the fashion industry but it was so inspiring (and made me want to wear more dresses!) I think I'm going to watch it again tonight!!

I especially loved this 1920s photoshoot by Steven Meisel... amazing hats!
