Creativity with Austin Kleon

I really enjoyed reading/viewing Austin Kleon's slideshow on 'How to steal like and artist (and 9 other things nobody told me)' - Some really great points about art, originality, making things and being nice. I especially like the point about just making and not waiting until you know who you are or what you want to do - I'm definitely a victim of too much planning & not enough just doing! Worth a look if you're after some inspiration or brain power on this friday.

500 pencils

My lovely and talented friend Rach sent me this great link a few days ago (as she so rightly pointed out, pencils love paper and we love paper so its all happy families!) On signing up to the project you are sent 25 pencils each month for 20 months... finally resulting in an enormous collection of 500 beautiful colours! (which once displayed, can become an artwork in themselves)
I love the names of too... that must have taken quite some brainstorming (and alot of eating judging by some of the names... lobster bisque, pumpkin pudding... mmm, tasty!)
