Home Sweet Home

Wednesday, 18 September 2013

Well Europe... As per usual you didn't disappoint. We stuffed ourselves with your camembert, marvelled at your age old buildings, oggled your art exhibitions, danced at your carnival, swam in your channel and generally soaked it all up until we could soak no more (including an all day visit to Peppa Pig world. yep, there is such a thing! It's amazing... according to the cub).

I will be sharing a few finds from London and Sweden over the next little while, aswell as some exciting giveaways in the wings.

I do so hope you haven't forgotten me?!

Whilst on the topic of wallpapers... aren't these two designs by Famille Summerbelle simply adorable.

Magnetic Walls // Sian Zeng

Sian Zeng, Magnetic wallpaper 1

This is such a gorgeous and creative idea by Sian Zeng... a woodland room with magnetic friends to keep you company. If i'd had magnetic wallpaper as a wee little lady I think I may have never left my bedroom. In fact, who am I kidding, I would LOVE it still now!

Christmas love // The Wooden Truth

Friday, 7 January 2011

photo-1

We were lucky to get lots of love from afar in envelopes this christmas. A particularly special one was this 12 days of Christmas card from my dear friend Ellie. It was printed and designed by The Wooden Truth in Lewes, UK (the beautiful town of my last workplace).

They seem to be a fairly new company from what I can gather but am looking forward to seeing what other paper treats they come up with in the future (I don't think i'll ever tire of woodblock letterpress. yum indeed)

Objects to make you smile

Not a particularly papery post I know but these two wonderful and adorably simple design ideas made me feel a bit fuzzy in my design-heart compartment.

'My Theatre' by Hina Thibaud
(I for one would love a little box of treasures such as this... must it really be only for kids?)

We had a long awaited blu-tack fiesta the other night and stuck up a whole bunch of new and colourful pictures in my very small but sunny studio. I will never be lost for inspiration again! Working is so much more fun today because of it! Now my next project is enticing the Lorikeet parrots to my window ledge (apparently apples and not sunflower seeds are the go)

SPRING BLOSSOMS

Dumplings, Oh how I love thee!

Thursday, 15 July 2010

Working from home is such a treat. Not only can you play loud music and go barefoot all day long... but little lunchings are much more like rituals! I wonder if I could ever possibly eat too many dumplings?

Home Sweet Lil Home

Sunday, 4 July 2010

For awhile now I've been meaning to put up a few peeks of our new(ish) abode. I'd forgotton quite how long it takes to make a place feel your own and there are still definately some bits that are not quite yet ours yet but it's on it's way I think! One of my favourite bits of our building are the mailboxes. I couldn't help but beautify ours with a letterpressed tag from Bespoke Press. Am certain the other ones have mailbox envy because of it!

P1010022My other favourite nook is the little kitchen. How great is that old oven? I am sure it must have belonged to a cooking extraordinaire in the 50's!

The rest is getting there... will update again soon hopefully (that will stop me being lazy too)!

Rainy morning

Wednesday, 26 May 2010

It's rainy and grey outside. The kind of day when it's perfect to stay in bed with tea and toast all day kind of day! (Sadly today is not that day for me) Though the grey day was much better for waking up to this lovely new curtain that my very clever mum made us (beautiful fabric is from ikea). Thanks mum!
